Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it?
For most of us, these questions are a complete mystery. We assume money is simply printed—in limited quantities to prevent inflation. And we know there’s some organization called “the Fed” which somehow raises and lowers interest rates, and has something to do with money. But isn’t there a lot of money sitting in bank accounts that doesn’t have some physical piece of paper (a dollar bill) to represent it? Or are there just trillions of dollar bills hiding out somewhere?
This is the story of the birth and creation of the Federal Reserve—a private system designed by the top banks and bankers of their time. Jekyll Island is where they met and hatched a brilliant system to take over and control the money supply. And we still live with it today.
The book is surprisingly easy to read, and leaves you with a completely new perspective on one of the most central aspects of our lives: money.
